Recent North Carolina report suggests immigrants boost economy

The North Carolina Justice Center recently published a report that suggests that residents who hail from foreign lands offer vital contributions to the state's economy. The report indicates that immigrants play a crucial role in adding to the financial power and economic status of the state. The immigrant populace in North Carolina is said to have quintupled in the past two decades.

Available data shows that, in 2013, there were as many as 41.3 million immigrants living in the United States. The recent report suggests that the economic activities and contributions of North Carolina immigrants have added to the overall prosperity of the state. Raleigh-Durham and Charlotte are among the cities that are reported to have experienced a tremendous immigrant population growth in recent times.

It was mentioned that areas with a dense immigrant population often enjoy a decreased poverty level and lower unemployment rate. One author recently stated that non-native residents are drawn to a variety of personal and business opportunities in North Carolina. In fact, it was reported that as many as 80 percent of new business owners over the past decade in the main street marketplace have emigrated from a foreign land.

It is understandable that immigrants in North Carolina who are interested in opening a business or otherwise participating in the economic growth of their communities might have questions regarding their legal statuses or similar issues. There are legal professionals available who have experience in immigration and naturalization law. Immigrants are able to consult with one of these professionals in order to seek answers to their questions.
